Selecting The Right Air Purifier for Your Smoke Concerns

Different needs require different solutions. What need do you have?

Designated Smoking Areas/Smoking Indoors

  • Cigarette/Cigar smoking is occuring in the same room as the air purifier.
  • Units contain high volumes of activated carbon to target cigarette chemicals & odors.
  • HEPA filter is present to remove some ash/soot particles.

Secondhand Smoke

  • Smoking is occuring elsewhere, or nearby, but not in the same room as the air purifier & occupants.
  • These units will have a high volume of activated carbon to focus on smoke odor & chemical removal.
  • For lighter concerns, air purifiers with less activated carbon can be used.

Wildfire Smoke

  • Wildfires mostly produce ash and soot, so an air purifier with a HEPA filter is required.
  • Activated carbon can help with odors, but is not essential if the wildfires are at a distance of greater than 5 miles.
  • Chemicals are less of a concern.
