How It Works

The Austin Air Bedroom Machine air purifier uses a five-stage filtration process to help capture particles, odors, chemicals and smoke. Air first passes through a large particle pre-filter designed to capture particles such as dust, hair and pet dander. This pre-filter should be cleaned once a month, depending on use and environment. After the bigger particles are removed, the air passes through a second, medium particle pre-filter designed to capture particles such as molds, spores and pollen. Fifteen pounds of carbon await the air after it passes through the two pre-filters. This carbon is a special blend of carbon designed to remove gases and chemicals such as Sulfuric Acid, Ammonia and Formaldehyde. The fourth layer is a true HEPA filter that traps 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns and 95% of all particles larger than 0.1 microns. The final layer is the HEGA (High Efficiency Gas Absorption) carbon filter that removes remaining odors, chemicals and smoke.
